Party, Guild, and Chat
How beginners can use Party & Guild and Chat without needing advanced social-system knowledge.
Definya has social tools for grouping, guilds, and messaging. The two key menu labels are:
- Party & Guild
- Chat
Party & Guild tabs
Opening Party & Guild shows these tabs:
- Party
- Guild
- Leaderboard
- Friends
- Quests
This guide focuses on the beginner social tabs: Party, Guild, and Chat.
Party basics
The party system is for temporary groups. Key rules:
- maximum party size is 5 members, including the leader
- minimum party size is 2 members, leader plus one member
- each character can only be in one party
- one member is the leader
The party UI supports member management actions such as changing leader and removing a player.
XP sharing basics
Party XP sharing uses a level proximity rule: the lowest-level member needs to be close enough to the highest-level member for sharing to turn on. A good rule of thumb is that the lowest level should be at least two-thirds of the highest level.
When party XP sharing is active, eligible in-range members receive equal XP with a party bonus. If the level gap is too large, only the player who defeats enemies receives experience.
Guild basics
The Guild tab shows Create Guild if your character is not in a guild. The guild creation form uses these exact labels:
- “Fill in the following fields to create a guild.”
- Enter Guild Name
- Enter Guild Tag
- Select Guild Coat of Arms
- Submit
Input placeholders include:
- “ex. DragonHunters”
- “ex. DH”
Creating a guild requires an active premium account, enough gold, a unique guild name/tag, and a character that is not already in a guild.
Chat basics
Open Chat to use the chat interface. The chat tabs visible to beginners are:
- Local
- Global
- Private
- Trade
If your guild has at least 2 members, the UI also adds:
- Guild
What each chat is for
- Local: nearby/location-based chat. Local messages can also interact with nearby NPCs.
- Global: world-wide chat. It also integrates with spell casting by detecting magic words.
- Private: direct messages between players.
- Trade: commerce-focused global chat.
- Guild: messages for guild members, available when the guild tab condition is met.
Keep chat messages short and respectful. Very long messages, filtered words, or invalid targets may be rejected.
Beginner social tips
- Use Local when talking to nearby players or NPCs.
- Use Global for broad questions, but remember it may interact with magic words.
- Use Trade for commerce-related messages.
- Use Private for direct player conversations.
- Use Party for short-term group play.
- Consider Guild later, after you understand premium and gold requirements.
