Combat, Death and PvP
Player-facing explanation of combat damage, targeting, mana shield, NPC danger, PvP skulls and death penalties.

Combat decision loop

PvE danger bands
The current mob list includes 146 hostile/boss entries. Most high-level entries are above level 60, so players should not treat any unknown monster as harmless.
NPC level distribution
Defense and shields
Physical and magical damage are calculated separately. Defense, shield defense, skill bonuses and class-specific rules can reduce incoming damage. Mages and other squishy builds should learn Mana Shield before relying on risky routes.
Death, skulls and PvP
PvP has skull and unjustified-kill rules. Death can carry penalties depending on game mode, skull state and protective items such as Amulet of Death.
