Crafting Basics

How to use the Crafting Book, categories, recipes, ingredients, and quantity crafting.

beginner By Definya Team

Crafting turns materials into useful items through recipes. The main UI label is Crafting Book.

Open the Crafting Book

Use the menu button labeled Crafting Book. While it loads, the UI may show:

Loading recipes…

The Crafting Book loads recipes by category. Category labels include:

  • Suggested
  • Pinned
  • All

When Pinned is selected, the Crafting Book shows your pinned recipes and keeps the list focused locally.

Choosing an item to craft

When you choose a craftable item, the quantity selector opens with the title:

How many items do you want to craft?

Before crafting, the game checks inventory space. If there is not enough space, it can show:

Not enough inventory space! You can fit [available slots] items but need [quantity].

If there is room, crafting starts and can show:

  • “Starting to craft [quantity] items…”
  • “Crafting item [number] of [quantity]…”

The game handles the final success, failure, and progress messages.

What recipes check

The crafting system validates:

  • required materials
  • required crafting skill and level
  • inventory space
  • success chance based on skill levels
  • item creation quantity

A recipe has an output item, a possible output quantity range, required items, and minimum crafting requirements.

Crafting skills

Crafting-related skills include:

  • Fishing
  • Farming
  • Mining
  • Lumberjacking
  • Cooking
  • Alchemy
  • Blacksmithing

Recipes are grouped by item purpose, such as weapons, armor, potions, food, accessories, resources, and tools.

Suggested recipes

The system includes intelligent crafting suggestions. It can consider your character context, equipped items, skill levels, materials in inventory, and class relevance. If strict filtering does not find enough options, it relaxes filters in stages.

For beginner purposes: start with Suggested, then use other categories when you already know what you want.

The advanced tutorial progression includes early lessons for gathering and crafting topics:

  • Fishing
  • Blacksmithing
  • Lumberjacking
  • Farming
  • CraftingMechanics

Follow those in-game lessons when they appear.
