Character, Progression, Skills and Vigor
How classes, game modes, XP, skills, buffs, vigor and login streaks shape a player build.
This section explains the long-term growth layer: your character identity, mode risk, XP, skills, vigor and temporary bonuses.
Progression flow
- 1Create character
- 2Pick class, race, faction and mode
- 3Earn XP from combat and tasks
- 4Raise level and skills
- 5Use better gear and spells
- 6Maintain vigor and buffs for efficient sessions
Character choices
- Class changes your strongest skill lanes and spell access. See Classes and Builds.
- Faction and race affect creation options. See Factions and Races.
- Game mode changes risk/reward. Standard and Permadeath have different XP and death expectations. See Game Modes.
XP and levels
Player level is the broad gate for harder content. XP mainly comes from combat and task rewards. Daily tasks can guide you into objectives that match your level band.

Skills
Skills represent repeated practice. Combat skills support weapons and defense; gathering and crafting skills support economy progression.
Skill planning
Match weapon type to the skill your class can grow well.
Plan mana, spell cooldowns and survivability together.
Defensive skills matter when monsters close distance.
Blacksmithing, alchemy, lumberjacking, mining, fishing, cooking and farming unlock recipes and materials.
Efficient sessions depend on current vigor and any food or premium bonuses.
Vigor and login streaks
- Vigor and XP explains XP/SP penalties and food restoration.
- Skills and Progression explains skill categories, affinity tiers and SP planning.
