Class choices & portraits

Choose Warrior, Berserker, Druid, Sorcerer, Rogue or Hunter. Class choice changes your progression and spells; choosing a different appearance does not change your race.

Racial bonuses & tradeoffs

These racial skill modifiers are separate from your class's progression affinities. A negative modifier does not prevent you from learning or using that skill. Every class can pursue crafting and gathering.

Racial spells & level milestones

These spells are exclusive to Undead characters and are available across all six classes unless a class is listed separately below. Character level alone is not enough: meet the named casting requirement shown in your spellbook, learn the spell, and have enough mana. See Spells and Magic for casting and learning.

SpellCast requirementsWhat it does
Bone GuardLevel 5 + Magic 5Raise Resistance and Magic Resistance by 20–60% for a base 30–90 seconds, scaling with Magic.
CannibalizeLevel 5 + Magic 1Loot and consume a nearby eligible flesh corpse to restore health, followed by brief regeneration. Needs a corpse within 3 tiles that you are allowed to loot; not every creature leaves edible flesh.
Life DrainLevel 10 + Magic 10Hit one target with Corruption damage, briefly apply Corruption and heal from actual health damage dealt. Also weaken Strength and Resistance; monsters additionally lose Magic Resistance.
Withering TouchLevel 10 + Magic 10Deal Corruption damage and lower the target’s Resistance by 10–30% for a base 10–30 seconds, scaling with Magic.
Bone SpikesLevel 20 + Magic 10Damage and briefly wound enemies around you. Against players, also reduce Speed by 20–35% for 30–60 seconds, scaling with Magic.

Level 25: race & class spells

Each of these spells needs both this race and the matching class, plus the named casting requirement below. They are not shared with your other class choices.

ClassSpellCast requirementsWhat it does
RogueBlight ShurikenLevel 25 + Magic 5Throw a magical shuriken that damages one target and applies brief Bleeding and Corruption effects.
BerserkerDeath RageLevel 25 + Magic 2Strike one target with Corruption damage and brief Corruption, weakening Strength and Resistance, then gain Fury’s Strength boost and Resistance penalty. Monsters also lose Magic Resistance.
WarriorGrave BashLevel 25 + Magic 5Hit one target with Corruption damage, apply brief Corruption and reduce Resistance. The weakening scales with Strength.
HunterPlague VolleyLevel 25 + Magic 7Damage enemies in a targeted area and apply brief Bleeding and Corruption effects.
DruidRotting RootsLevel 25 + Magic 15Damage enemies in a targeted thicket with brief vine and Corruption effects. Against players, also reduce Speed by 5–15% for 20–40 seconds.
SorcererSoul RotLevel 25 + Magic 12Damage enemies in a broad targeted area with Corruption and weaken Strength and Resistance. Susceptible monsters also lose Magic Resistance; curse-immune monsters resist the weakening.

Important limitations

Cannibalize needs a nearby flesh corpse. It is not an unrestricted heal: you need a suitable body to consume. Life Drain restores health from damage dealt; it does not bypass protected targets.
