Kobold

Kobold race guide: faction, class choices, portraits, racial modifiers, spell levels and build tradeoffs.

By Definya Team

Kobold is playable in Life Bringer. Dexterity, daggers and fiery tricks; lower Strength, Resistance and Shielding make defense a conscious choice.

Class choices & portraits

Choose Warrior, Berserker, Druid, Sorcerer, Rogue or Hunter. Class choice changes your progression and spells; choosing a different appearance does not change your race.

Racial bonuses & tradeoffs

These racial skill modifiers are separate from your class's progression affinities. A negative modifier does not prevent you from learning or using that skill. Every class can pursue crafting and gathering.

Racial spells & level milestones

These spells are exclusive to Kobold characters and are available across all six classes unless a class is listed separately below. Character level alone is not enough: meet the named casting requirement shown in your spellbook, learn the spell, and have enough mana. See Spells and Magic for casting and learning.

SpellCast requirementsWhat it does
Scavenger's InstinctLevel 5 + Lumberjacking 5Raise Lumberjacking by 20–60% for 15–80 seconds, scaling with Lumberjacking. Does not increase item-drop chances.
ScurryLevel 5 + Magic 5Gain 20% Speed for 10 seconds.
Fire BombLevel 10 + Magic 8Damage and briefly burn enemies in a targeted area.
Dirty TrickLevel 15 + Magic 10Weaken the target’s Strength and Resistance by 10–30% for a base 10–30 seconds, scaling with Magic. Susceptible monsters also lose Magic Resistance. Does not deal direct damage.
Tinker's GiftLevel 20 + Magic 5Raise Alchemy and Blacksmithing by 20–60% for 15–80 seconds. Each bonus and duration scales with its own crafting skill.

Kobold Dragon FormLevel 200 + Magic 1Become a dragon for 10 seconds: +20% to your class’s primary offensive skill and +10% Resistance. Enables Kobold Dragon Inferno while the form lasts.
Kobold Dragon InfernoLevel 200 + Magic 1Damage and briefly burn enemies in a targeted area. Requires your Kobold Dragon Form to be active, not just learned.

Level 25: race & class spells

Each of these spells needs both this race and the matching class, plus the named casting requirement below. They are not shared with your other class choices.

ClassSpellCast requirementsWhat it does

WarriorScrap BarricadeLevel 25 + Strength 5Temporarily raise Shielding, Resistance and Magic Resistance. Combines Self Fortify Defense and Iron Will; does not place a wall on the ground.
HunterShrapnel StormLevel 25 + Magic 7Damage enemies in a targeted area and cause brief Bleeding.
RogueSmoke DaggerLevel 25 + Dexterity 8Become invisible and gain Self Haste’s Speed boost. This is an escape buff, not a thrown dagger attack.
DruidSmoldering ThicketLevel 25 + Magic 15Damage enemies in a targeted thicket with brief vine and Burning effects. Against players, also reduce Speed by 5–15% for 20–40 seconds.

Important limitations

Fire Breath becomes available at level 40. Dragon Form and Dragon Inferno require level 200, and Dragon Inferno can only be used while in Kobold Dragon Form. Dragon Form lasts 10 seconds; plan the window before attacking.
